The unexpected circumstances and interruption to our daily lives by COVID-19 brought forward a beautiful opportunity for us to bring talented artisans and craftspersons to you, no matter how far away you find yourself from Bassett Road. Even though we couldn’t physically be together during these unusual times, we are inspired and humbled by the support we received during our first virtual Barnfest as our community shared our videos and posts on social media, sent us personal messages and generously donated to the mission of Fabric of Life.
We hope you will consider helping us sustain the work of Fabric of Life as we work to preserve traditional skills for future generations. The proceeds go toward operating expenses, programs, and scholarships for preserving traditions.
Barnfest is Still Accessible!
Even if you were unable to join us for Barnfest as it happened, we have made the videos available for you on our YouTube channel.
Virtual Barnfest kicked off with musical melodies performed by our Founder and Executive Director, Becky Ashenden and Co-Founder and Board Member John Marcy, as they opened the doors to our VIRTUAL BARNFEST celebration and FUNdraiser! This was followed by the release of videos from several dear friends as well as the full video of the Story of Fabric of Life, as told by Becky Ashenden.
We had so many wonderful friends offer to share their crafts and skills with our community that we couldn’t fit everything into one day. Make sure you subscribe to our YouTube channel so you don’t miss these one of a kind videos we will continue to share going forward! And don’t forget to connect with Fabric of Life on Instagram and Facebook to stay in touch with our vibrant community!

Online Fundraising Auction
We received many generous donations to our Barnfest fundraiser to support our mission of preserving traditional skills. While we wish we could have hosted this event in person, the virtual format allowed our more distant friends a way to be involved in helping sustain the work of Fabric of Life through our Fundraiser auction.
We offered two wonderful table squares that have been handwoven by former Vav Immersion students as well as three broomcorn brooms, handmade by Fabric of Life’s own Eva Gaultney to kick off our fall fundraising effort. We are planning to offer more fundraising items through another online auction in the future.
**Bidding for this online auction has ended**
