Beginning Knitting
One hour Workshop with Adrienne Daniels
Adrienne Daniels grew up in the yarn bins at Northampton Wools. She learned to knit at the age of 10 and has been teaching the Learn To Knit classes at Northampton Wools for 6 years. She will teach you how to cast on and then how to knit so that you can make a small bracelet with a button.
All materials will be provided. Limit 8.

Introduction to Fiddle
One hour workshop with Annika Amstutz
Have you always wondered if you could play the fiddle but never had the nerve to try? Here’s your opportunity. Pick up a fiddle (we will have one available for you) and get a little expert instruction with Fiddle Orchestra of Western Mass leader Annika Amstutz. She’ll have you fiddling a tune after only an hour! Limit 5.
1:30 pm – 2:30 pm.
Intermediate Fiddle
One hour workshop with Annika Amstutz
Are you a fiddle player who would love to get some tips to take you to the next level? Come to this workshop with Annika Amstutz and get a better groove in your bowing, learn some double stops, and do a bit of improvisation. Limit 8.
Annika co-leads the Fiddle Orchestra of Western Mass and is an expert and experienced teacher.
3 pm – 4 pm.
Introduction to Ukulele
One hour workshop with Joe Blumenthal
Have you always wanted to play a musical instrument but think it’s too hard to learn? Try the ukulele! You’ll be strumming and singing songs right away. Joe’s an expert and getting people started; he teaches a regular intro to uke class at GCC and the Northampton Senior Center. Ukuleles will be available for the workshop. Limit 6.
1:30 pm – 2:30 pm.
Introduction to Middle Eastern Rhythms
One hour workshop with Joe Blumenthal
Are you fascinated by the exotic rhythms of the Balkans and Middle-East? In an hour Joe will have you playing a variety of rhythms on the dumbek, the hourglass shaped drum that’s played all over that region of the world. This drum is small and easy to play; drums will be available at the workshop. Joe has been playing and dancing to this music for many years, and has led workshops at dance camps and at the Northampton Senior Center. Limit 8.
