June 16, 2024: Fiddle Workshop & Concert with Troy MacGillivray & Mari Black

June 16

On June 16, 2024, we hope you will make plans to join us for an amazing afternoon of fiddle tunes with Master Cape Breton Fiddlers Troy MacGillivray and Mari Black!

Fiddlers: Join us for an amazing afternoon, starting at 2:30pm, where Troy and Mari will teach us tunes and coach on the well known and driving Cape Breton traditional dance music style. Learn some great tunes along with the plenty of tips and tricks with their clear and gentle coaching on style and ornamentation at an accessible level. The workshop will take place in the Bassett Road Farmhouse living room at 80 Bassett Road in Shelburne, MA.

At 5pm, we will reconvene at the Buckland Public Hall at 15 Upper St, Buckland, MA where Troy and Mari will play a lovely Cape Breton Fiddle Concert. The evening will be complete with food, festivities and a square set! The concert is open to all, so invite your friends and come enjoy a lively concert in the quaint Buckland Public Hall.

In the evening, we will enjoy an old style Cape Breton House Party. What is that? — Stick around and find out!
